St. Patrick's Day Parade

We had a very exciting outing to the Atlanta St.Patrick's Day parade! Jack enjoyed hearing the bands play, the sirens of the police cars and seeing the horses. I'm not sure which boy had the most fun...Jay really enjoyed the parade as well. Several of Jack's friends met us at the parade.

First Valentine's Day!

Today we hosted our first play date! We had a Valentine Cookie decorating party. Jack had 5 friends over and their moms. We are all apart of a meetup.com group that I co-organize. We have 81 members and the group is not quite 3 months old. We are all moms with babies born after July 2009. Our average attendance at our events is about 8 moms. It has been a lot of fun!

Kansas Christmas

Jack's first trip to Kansas was Christmas day. He enjoyed the airplane ride. He arrived at Grandpa and Grandma's and was greeted by Lexi and Lily. Lily was very excited and wanted to hold Jack " a really long time". The next day we drove to Emporia for Great Grandma and Granddad's 65th Anniv, and 95th birthday celebration. It was a special day. A few blocks from church we were stuck in the snow. Ben and Dad shoveled and pushed us out.

Jack also visited the cow town of Abeline, KS and the Eisenhower Museum.

Gearing up for Christmas

The day after Thanksgiving we were so excited to go pick out our First Christmas Tree! Jay put lights up on the house and we put lights on the fence. Jacak enjoys looking at the lights on his moving deer that is under the tree. This week I made gingerbreads ornaments and strung a garland for Jack's first Christmas.

Chattahoochee Nature Center

After much hesitation Sunday we bundled up and went for a drive to the Chattahoochee Nature Center. We had been planning the outing for a week and we were very excited to explore the center and view the animals. We woke up and it was 40 degrees. We decided to go ahead and go. Jack really enjoyed the indoor noises of the water in the aquarium and also the neon lights on the exhibits. I think Jack will appreciate animals as much as his daddy. The trip was a success.

Jack's first week

We are so blessed. One week ago today our little one entered into our lives. He has adapted quite well into the Smith household. There is a sense of calmness amongst the other pack members. Atticus, our cat is cautious around the baby. Emma, our dog is content and watches over him. Jay and Baby Jack have become buddies and enjoy their evenings together in the "man room". He has embraced his role as daddy and has been so helpful, I have even managed to go shopping with my mom and leave the house for a break. Jack is thriving well. We went to the Dr. for his check-up on Tuesday and he now weighs 7 lbs. 10 oz. He sleeps quite well throughout the night and is overall a very happy and healthy young man.
